It is known as Washington State's top resort destination. Wapato Point is an unusual location as the only peninsula and jutting out into 50 mile long Lake Chelan. As one of the deepest lakes in North America, the lake offers crystal clear pure water as its central attraction. Around the lake are rolling hills, farms and valleys and soaring peaks.

Further uplake the area is unsettled and wild. At the head of the lake, 50 miles from the town of Chelan, is the remote community of Stehekin home to 100 souls who like to share one of America's last remaining one room log cabin schools. And who provide services to visitors who can arrange only by boat or plane, many of whom are hiking out into the unspoiled North Cascades National park.
